Hi Michael, Thank YOU and Corey for being our awesome wedding DJs. We are so grateful and happy that you were available for our wedding date. The music was absolutely perfect (we listened to the wedding CDs on the way to Cape Cod on Tuesday -- fun!). We especially appreciated how easy you made it for us to communicate to you our wishes prior to the wedding and how flexible you were to accommodate the unexpected requests that came up on the day of the wedding. You were so kind in helping to manage guests' requests while also maintaining the tastefulness we desired in the music and the sequence of events. Also, to our eyes/ears, your movement of music was seamless from the ceremony location to the cocktail hour location to the banquet room for the final reception. Thank you, especially, for the services you provided above and beyond "average" DJs -- you read my grandmother's letter with great thoughtfulness, Corey's rapping was a huge crowd-pleaser (and bride-pleaser!), and you accommodated my dad's last minute toast request. All of these factors made our wedding very special. Prior to working with you, I didn't realize how important the DJ is to the smooth operation of a wedding. We are so thankful that we chose you! Michael, The music was awesome. The only thing I would have changed would have been to have to father/daughter & mother/son dances during dinner. I felt like the dancing portion of the evening was a little rushed. That being said:
I loved your music selections for the entire night. The cocktail hour music was exactly what we were looking for. When the party did start downstairs, you delivered as promised. I have never seen a dance floor so packed. You played great song after great song and our guests had an amazing time. Thanks for all your help, I will recommend your DJ services to everyone. Hi Michael, I am so glad that you e-mailed me...I have been meaning to send out thank yous to everyone who was there that day. Everything was phenomenal...everything came together so flawlessly and perfect. I really appreciate all that you and Chris did that night. I know it was not the most typical of receptions (unfortunately!) and you both were very patient and flexible with all the changes we had to make, and I really do appreciate that.
Everyone has told me that everything was wonderful, and that they had so much fun...and I really attribute that to you and Chris keeping up the energy and changing the order of events to fit our needs. You really kept everyone involved, and it seemed so natural and normal that some people didn't even know what was going on until a little later!!!
I really do hope that I have a couple to refer your name to in the future, as I am positive that most people who were in attendance that night know what a fabulous job you did and will keep you in mind! In all sincerity you guys get a perfect 10 out of 10. There is no feedback that I can give you as I really think you guys did a perfect job. My father is a notoriously tough critic of wedding music - it's always too loud, or the DJ tries to take center stage, or the band steals the show, etc. We came back from our honeymoon and all Dad could do was rave about you - the music was excellent, it was the first wedding he had been to where he was able to actually have a conversation over dinner because the music wasn't too loud, etc. Ironically he and my mother were at another wedding last night. The only downside to our reception was that there really weren't enough Jewish people there to properly orchestrate a Hora....it went pretty well, but I think some people didn't know what was was going on, but that is of course no fault of yours! Hi Michael, Thank you so much for everything you provided last weekend at our wedding. I have nothing bad to say and everyone I talked to loved your mix of music... I appreciate that the majority of the later music was dancing music because I can't stand weddings where the music is all slow songs.
From our point of view it seemed like you worked so seamlessly with Paul the coordinator and that made the day so relaxing for me. I did so much of the wedding planning myself that it felt a little strange to just let go of everything but once I got into the reception everything just melted together so smoothly.
No worries about my dance with my grandfather, I did dance with him at the beginning even though it wasn't the song he wanted. He ended up leaving earlier than planned and this is no fault of yours.
The only critique I heard from one guest was that there were 2 slow songs played towards the end of the night, but that they were played back to back and she was stuck dancing with one person and wanted to be dancing with someone else. She said when the first dance ended she was stuck dancing with the same guys during the next song too. It certainly wasn't anything that other peopled noticed and all in all you guys were such a big hit.
Thank you so much for all the work you put into the wedding (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception). It made our special day so much more enjoyable for Max and myself because we were able to just trust you guys and really experience everything. Thanks again! Dayna and Max

Hi Michael, ... We already got our photos back, you and Corey are in a couple of them, some really neat shots actually. Jeff and George were fantastic, and it really did put help to know that you guys have worked together in the past and each recommend the other so hghly. Of all our vendors, Nick and I can say without hesitation we made the absolute right choice in our DJ and photographer. Now for the feedback... First of all, we just want to say thank you to you and Corey. You guys did an incredible job and we can't thank you enough. We were VERY happy about how everything went. In short, we had an absolute blast! When I sent over my music list, I said ultimately all we wanted was to see people dancing and enjoying themselves, and you guys made sure that happened. We couldn't believe how everyone just danced all night, laughing, singing and having fun. That was exactly what I was hoping for and you exceeded my expectations in that department. At one point Nick and I just sat down to watch everyone having a good time, and that is one of my favorite memories of the day, just to remember how happy I was seeing all our family and friends mingling and dancing. From the young folks to the older folks, everyone was happy. I saw family members out on the dance floor who I have never seen dance before, even my grandmother!
...I am very grateful to you for mentioning that he could do that, it was definitely a highlight. Most people are really surprised when they find out I know all the words to the song and how much I love it. So for me, that was very appropriate and so awesome to hear, I know all our friends really loved it too! Overall, we had an amazing time at our wedding. The songs you chose were appropriate for the crowd, fun, brought back memories, and were just perfect. All of our expectations were exceeded and we had so many people telling us how much fun they had, which is all we really wanted. I would not hesitate to recommend you to another couple for their wedding, and please feel free to use me as a reference and to use anything I've said on your website or materials or whatever. Hey Michael, Thanks for the note, we just got back from our honeymoon over the weekend and we're slowly getting back to real life. Beth and I were thrilled with you guys. Everything went great - even better than we hoped. The music was great, the dance floor was packed all night long and Beth and I enjoyed just having a big party with all of our friends and family. You guys went above and beyond - we've already been listening to the CD and on the flight out to California I was make an on the go play list with other songs that I can remember that you guys played (incidentally, if you actually have the list of what was played, that would be cool to have - if not, no big deal). Hello. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you regarding feedback, but first we were busy relaxing in Mexico and then just busy being back at work. So, I'm sure you noticed, but people had a blast at our wedding. As far as I noticed, the dance floor was always packed and that's all we wanted. Well, Alicia and I also had a great time. We can't imagine how the ceremony and reception could have gone better. It was a little hard getting folks into the tent for the introduction, but that was our fault for having a weird schedule.

Joel and his assistant did a fantastic job, from playing my mom's favorite music, to having wonderful interactions with the gaggles of kids who were delighted to dance all night and learn about the DJ equipment. They loved him! Also, Joel was incredibly professional and was right on cue all night. Two things that were especially appreciated were that Joel went out of his way to find a song special to my mom that was only available in video and converted it to be played at the party (then, emailed the song so that I can put it on CD for my mom!). He also recorded the toasts at the party, put it on a CD to give to my mom at the party, which was an lovely touch. Top notch work. Overall,my mom, the guests, and I couldn't have been happier with the work of Joel, his assistant, and MCO productions who helped make this party great and seamless. Thank you so much!

DJ - MCO Productions (mcoproductions.com) A+: I'm a HUGE music person -- this was my thing for the wedding, and when we met Michael, we knew we'd found the guy we needed. I'd picked out the prelude, processionals, recessional, all non-traditional, and we told Michael that he had free reigh over the reception and cocktail hour. We told him general genres we liked, and he did the rest. Our guests just assumed and commented that they thought the dj must have been playing a playlist I came up with, since it was so me! I assured them he was just THAT good. As an extra bonus, his assistant, Corey, did some old school hip hop rap and the people went NUTS! Seriously, my best advice in choosing a DJ, MCO or otherwise -- they're the pros - let them do what they do best. Don't micromanage the playslists. But, if you want NON-CHEESY, intuitive, genuine, friendly, business-wise and responsive DJ for your wedding, make sure you check Michael O'Neill out.

It was the perfect way to end a perfect evening. We had so much fun and damn would love to do it all again!! Michael and and his assistant Corey did a fantastic job at our wedding this fall. As a regular attendant of Michael's trivia gigs in Boston, I knew that he had a great ear for different types of songs and musical styles and would be a great emcee at our reception. My wife and I were very impressed with Michael's professionalism and desire to make sure that the music on *our* day would be special to us. He listened to our suggestions for songs, made some of his own suggestions for thing we weren't sure about, and took requests at the reception. Only one complaint - acoustics at The Barn are not great, especially for guests sitting in the balcony area -- guests missed the cake cutting and had trouble hearing some of the announcements during dinner. Other than that, it was a memorable experience and we were very happy to have Michael and Corey there!

And Corey – what a great guy! We may not have had an official wedding coordinator but Corey did that and more, especially keeping an eye on timing and people to ensure things flowed seamlessly. We really appreciated you both keeping a pulse on the flow of the evening – you were great about seeking us out when needed but otherwise just letting us enjoy the night. …more than a thank you note, this is a message to all future couples that are struggling to find the right DJ for their special day. Well, first let me tell you that I was a total bridezilla and the love of my life is a very detailed oriented husband. Before we booked with DJ Mike we interviewed 5 of the most recommended DJs in Newport and Boston and exchanged e-mails with many more. Our idea of the perfect DJ was of the one that is professional, had a good voice, good personality and that knows how to read the crowd. Also me and my husband are from 2 different countries and therefore different cultures, our families and friends enjoy different songs and have different ways of celebrating. So we were counting on our DJ to somehow make those differences complement each other. The first time I met with Mike I decided to take my sister with me. She is one of the most successful cello players in CT and she has a great 25 years experience in the music industry. After our appointment with Mike she was so comfortable with him and thought that his intuition and collective character was very very admirable. Me and Mike communicated after that appointment numerous times. He was always so proactive and so interested that I get a comfortable level with him but. He send samples of the music that he was going to play, and detailed messages to ensure that we were on the same page and shared the same understanding. Our wedding was a fairytale!!!! And we couldn’t have been more happy to choose Mike and Corey as our DJs. Everything they did, from the way they presented themselves, the way the organized everyone, the way they introduced my wedding party, the undivided attention that they gave to the most emotional parts of my wedding, the energy that they created with their music and presence it was soooo charming and absolutely IMPECCABLE !!!!!! There are a lot of things that can stress you out while preparing for your wedding, don’t let the DJ selection be one of them. Michael and Corey were quite capable and helpful throughout our wedding reception. Michael did a wonderful job of catering to our guests. Most everyone danced throughout the night. His music selection was a perfect balance for a formal event that provided enough energy for guests of all ages to enjoy. Michael met with us twice before our wedding reception and ensured we were relaxed about the evening. We provided him very little guidance on what music to select, and he did a marvelous job of choosing the correct selection. Michael also handled our introductions and all announcements which went off without a hitch. On top of that his assistant was very helpful throughout the night and worked behind the scenes to ensure we knew what to expect. My wife and I planned this wedding from out-of-state which made things trickier, but Michael did a terrific job of answering all of our questions and anticipating issues before they arose. I think the best sign of a quality DJ is the amount of time people spend dancing and whether or not people are receptive to the musical selection, and throughout our reception people flooded the dance floor and the different musical sets catered to each group of people there. We were very pleased with our decision to use Michael as our DJ.

Many people were especially pleased with the dinner music you selected. It's obvious from some of the candid pictures, that people enjoyed the dancing just as much. People commented on how much fun they had, and we believe it is due largely to your & Corey's efforts.
We would like to personally thank you for your patience and professionalism during the ceremony and reception. The use of your back-up PA system was greatly appreciated and we were very happily surprised that your took the extra step to monitor the volume and system during the ceremony. Michael, We only have positive feedback. We wish there was some constructive criticism we could give you, but we thought about it for a while and are at a loss. You went above and beyond above and beyond. Many of our guests are tough critics, but you and Corey got uniformly great reviews from everybody we talked to. Matt's cousin even described a run of songs you went on (not exactly sure which one, but Bon Jovi was in there somewhere) as "orgasmic" – no kidding.
One thing we can single out as particularly important that made us feel confident we made the right choice was that preliminary meeting where you made every effort to find out exactly what we wanted and laid out how things would go. A lot of wedding vendors do or say little things that remind you you're just one of several weddings they're going to do that month, but we always felt like you were giving us special, individualized attention. Then, when it came to performance time, you still managed to surpass our high expectations.

Michael took the time to meet with us prior to the wedding to make sure that he could get a feel for what we wanted and delivered that vision perfectly. Corey was extremely helpful and checked in with us to make sure that the wedding was moving forward smoothly and whether or not we needed anything from them. After giving him a few recommendations as to what we did and didn't want for music, they were able to take over and played music that got everyone up and dancing. I’m not sure that I can thank you enough for the amazing job you did djing our wedding. The concept of the Wedding Planner was a wonderful tool for a busy bride. I was able to give you all of the important information and check the task off my list. I have to admit, before the wedding I was a bit nervous thinking about how a DJ can satisfy such a diverse crowd. As a bride, you want to make sure there is a good mix so that all generations have something to dance to and enjoy….a difficult task no doubt. You handled it perfectly. Throughout the night, you read the mood of the crowd and transitioned seamlessly through different styles of music. My guests have done nothing but rave about the music. We could not possibly be more thrilled with our choice of DJ. Throughout the wedding planning process we constantly told ourselves that our priority was a FUN wedding, so music was one of our most important wedding decisions. Michael was incredibly responsive, friendly, helpful, thoughtful, and professional from the day we met him as fans at a Red Sox game. He listened to all of our requests and read our 4-page list of requirements, then delivered perfection on every one. Though our reception was seven hours long, the dance floor was never empty! Michael did an incredible job of simultaneously reading the crowd, responding to guest requests, and working in the many, many songs we had asked him to play. Throughout the wedding day and for weeks afterwards we received compliment after compliment about our DJ. Our only regret is that we don't have another party to hire him for...yet!

First, Amy and I would like to thank you for an incredible time at our wedding. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and we are still getting comments as to what a wonderful time everyone had. We thought you and Corey did a fantastic job. There are not any negatives that come to mind. We thought the announcing certain events (first dance, mother son dance, etc.) were very streamlined and well organized without seeming intrusive. I've definitely been to events where the DJ takes over and I find that somewhat annoying. We thought you can Corey did a great job of blending in, just as you said you would.
A few things we found particularly excellent were as follows:
-Music selection and going with the flow. As it became obvious people were looking for more of an upbeat tone, you matched it perfectly (exactly what Amy and I were looking for).
-Communication and organization. From the emails over long distance to our meeting to the wedding night, we thought you did a great job at going through the process with us and getting to know what we were looking for. Additionally, Corey did an excellent job at lining up the bridesmaids and groomsmen for the introductions so that they went off without a hitch.
-The ceremony mic and the karaoke mic. I had no idea we Bob and Ken had planned that karaoke, but you were certainly ready for it without notice and it was really a memorable part of the night.
Thanks again for all your hard work, we really appreciated it. We'll be sure to recommend you to other friends/relatives that get married in the future.

Schools for Children Staff Party, 12/12/03

Our annual staff gathering has changed from one that fell asleep shortly after dinner, to a festive party that people are reluctant to leave at the end of the night. For our wedding, choosing a dj was a difficult decision for us to make, because we are so picky about what music we like! Our No Play list was about three pages long, and our must play/would like to hear list was two pages. Mike is just what we wanted. He's a normal guy, no cheesiness, very laid-back. Plus he has an assistant which was great. And they did a fantastic job at our wedding! They played nothing from the no play list and played all the important songs we wanted to hear, as well as a lot of other bands that we love. They checked with us if someone requested something they thought we might not like. And they knew just what to play for the parent-aged crowd. Everyone was dancing all night, and we got lots of compliments on the music choices. People loved that it wasn't your ordinary wedding music and that it was very personal-b/c of all the songs we specifically picked. I had a good feeling about him right after our first meeting.
